Dr. Donna Weiss received her first Bachelor of Science in Physiology at Northern Michigan University, graduating magna cum laude. She received her second Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science along with her Doctorate of Optometry from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she graduated with honors. Upon graduation, Dr. Weiss was chosen to join the renowned contact lens specialty practice of Drs. Farkas, Kassalow, Resnick and Associates in New York City. In late 2007, Dr. Weiss relocated to Los Angeles and joined the Southern California College of Optometry faculty in 2008, serving as a clinical instructor at the Optometric Center of Los Angeles mentoring fourth year interns.

Outside of academia, Dr. Weiss provides patient care in multiple settings throughout Los Angeles. Chosen as the Director of The Irregular Cornea Contact Lens Department at the Boxer Wachler Vision Institute in 2007, her clinical work is focused on designing custom contact lenses for an advanced keratoconic and post-surgical cornea population. Dr. Weiss also holds clinic in both the Optometry and Ophthalmology departments at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles and owns a private practice at Village Eyes Optometry in West Los Angeles. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Weiss’s enjoys incorporating research into her schedule. She served for three years as a sub-investigator in a FDA monitored IDE clinical trial on the surgical treatment of presbyopia with scleral spacing. Dr. Weiss also functioned as both a primary investigator for the development of the SynergEyes ClearKone lens and a sub-investigator in the redesigning of the SynergEyes A lens. In addition to her research, Dr. Weiss lectures on fitting irregular corneas and has presented at symposiums in the Southern California area and Las Vegas.
