IDEA Center Mini Grants

Purpose

The I.D.E.A Center funds annual mini grants to support our mission of promoting a campus culture that uplifts and supports inclusive practices, increases diversity, structural equity, and accessibility.  This mini grant is intended to support our community’s ideas and innovations in these areas for through support of a project or program. 

Projects can be in the areas of: 

  • Promoting an Inclusive Campus Climate: Create and sustain a campus environment of respect and civility through opportunities for diverse interactions, community dialogue, and ongoing intercultural learning.
  • Formal and Informal Curricula: Assure diverse perspectives and inclusive pedagogies in the content of courses, programs, teaching, learning approaches and experiences across all academic, clinical, and co-curricular programs. 
  • Structural Diversity, Access, and Equity: Develop and implement strategies to improve the matriculation and retention of historically underrepresented students, faculty, administration, and staff.   
  • Organizational Infrastructure: Establish a process for ongoing monitoring, assessment, evaluation and revision of institutional practices, policies, and procedures to ensure equitable and inclusive outcomes.
  • Health Equity: Evaluate clinical processes, systems and environments and establish programs aimed at identifying barriers to health, eliminating disparities, and improving health in all groups. 

Eligibility:  

Staff, and Faculty from any MBKU campus or department are invited to apply for awards of up to $1,000. Students are encouraged to participate in partnership with faculty and staff as appropriate.
