Marshall B. Ketchum University enjoys a steady and generous outpouring of private grant and sponsorship support from year to year. In 2015, we were thrilled to welcome a new foundation donor to our Grand Patrons community — the Del E. Webb Foundation.

The Del E. Webb Foundation invests in productivity that results in long-term benefits. The Foundation believes that investing in results-based programs will impact the future of our society by allowing it to reach its maximum potential. At Ketchum University we are especially thankful to have received this early investment in our new simulation center, receiving $139,000 for the purchase of the Laerdal SimMan 3G Manikin and the Laerdal SimJunior Manikin.

With these two technology additions, the university is delivering a state-of-the-art simulation center in the renovated Health Professions Building on the Fullerton campus. The simulation center takes our health care students outside of the traditional classroom and exposes them to the importance of experiential clinical education. It enables them to learn in a safe environment, without risk to patients, and introduces them to emergency conditions and practice scenarios that enhance their clinical understanding and confidence.

Through their support, the Del E. Webb Foundation has positively impacted our new academic program growth and early success. We thank and recognize the foundation for taking a chance on Ketchum University as a new grantee. Because of the foundation’s foresight, the university has realized significant technology enhancements and critical teaching tools for the thousands of health care students trained annually for many years to come.
