When I started searching for PA programs, I knew I wasn’t just choosing where I’d spend the next few years; I was choosing the environment that would shape the kind of provider I wanted to become.

I was first introduced to Marshall B. Ketchum University’s PA program through a now-close friend who was rotating at the hospital where I worked. Interestingly, she had also worked at the same hospital years before me - funny how small the world can be. During her rotation, I watched her dive into procedures without hesitation, guide patients through complicated treatment plans, and effortlessly earn the trust of both patients and her preceptors. Later, while talking about PA schools, she shared how MBKU truly felt like a family: a place that challenges, supports, and inspires its students every day. Seeing her thrive in that environment made me eager to experience a program that cultivates both skills and community.
Now here I am, in the same place my friend once was, and I could not be prouder to be a part of this community. From the moment you step on campus, MBKU welcomes you into the family. Whether being greeted by current students on interview day, making new friends during orientation week, or celebrating our hard work together after an exam, you see how much people genuinely care about each other, both inside and outside the classroom.
Every day in this program has brought me closer to the provider I aspire to be: one who listens with empathy, makes thoughtful decisions with confidence, and advocates tirelessly for those in my care. Being a student at MBKU has shown me the impact of learning alongside passionate peers, guided by dedicated faculty, and immersed in an environment that values growth as much as academics. Choosing this program was not just about obtaining a degree but rather joining a community that reminds me every day why I chose this profession.
