ACHIEVING 20|20 together

By all accounts, the 2015-16 fiscal year in the life of Ketchum University was incredibly successful. Like most non-profits, Ketchum University relies on the generosity of alumni and friends that support the institution’s vision and mission.

This support has garnered incomparable academic learning, exceptional clinical training and a purposeful effort to educate students in a team-based environment. The results speak for themselves. Our students help others—see better, live better. They are leaders in their professions and in their communities. Their contributions matter.

The 2015-16 fiscal year marks the most successful year in the ACHIEVING 20|20 Campaign to date. With over $3.8 million in gifts received last year alone, we are proud to have reached the significant halfway point in our comprehensive campaign to support Ketchum University. As you may have read by now, the support of optometrist, activist and philanthropist, Warren Harvard Low, OD, ’52, was instrumental in this effort. His legacy and commitment to our great institution will forever be cemented in our history. His generosity has inspired others, and we are proud to honor his legacy by naming the Warren & Carol Low Student Union.

When you make a gift to Ketchum University it has a direct impact on the lives of our students, faculty and patients. We have set our sights high with a planned expansion through the acquisition of the fire station that neighbors the Fullerton campus. This is a dedicated effort to enhance the student experience and provide a welcome center for alumni and friends; renovate our former clinical facility to create a state-of-the-art health professions building supporting all three programs; and improve our basic science and labs building. We know that to attract the best students we must offer superior spaces that will enhance their learning and academic progress. Continued support for student scholarships, research and technology also represent critical needs at Ketchum University. Your continued support helps make all of our goals reachable.

As we embark on a new calendar year, we are motivated by our promising future as an interprofessional health care university. Our humble beginnings in Los Angeles have inspired the innovative spirit that permeates throughout our university today. While we have achieved a significant milestone in the life of our campaign by raising $10 million, we are only halfway there.

$20 million in hand by 2020 fulfills our promise of a team-based educational environment of which our campus community and future graduates can be proud. Under Dr. Alexander’s leadership, Ketchum has started a movement that disrupts traditional notions of what a health care university should be. Our new Ketchum Health facility in Anaheim is just the beginning of the incredible transformations yet to be achieved. The momentum is palpable, and we encourage you to join us every step along the way of our exciting journey.
