Dr. Madiraju is a pharmacy graduate by training and has extensive teaching experience in various basic and pharmaceutical science courses. She has a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh PA. Her doctoral dissertation studies were focused on elucidating pharmacological and biochemical mechanisms of novel microtubule-stabilizing agents (discodermolide and dictyostatin). Dr. Madiraju was at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, La Jolla CA, for her post-doctoral training. Her post-doctoral research studies emphasized on targeting innate immune response pathways with an ultimate aim of finding novel pharmacologically active therapeutics for treatment of autoimmune diseases. Dr. Madiraju is a member of various scientific organizations.
