Biography

Dr. Christopher Cannell has over 23 years of multidisciplinary clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, Orthopedics, Critical Care, and Internal Medicine. He is a dedicated educator, serving as an Adjunct Professor of Healthcare Law & Policy at MBKU and as a Full-time Assistant Professor at the University of Lynchburg, where he leads the Healthcare Law and Entrepreneurship curriculum. He also serves as adjunct faculty at Northeastern University School of Medical Sciences and Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Cannell has held multiple key leadership positions, including Lead, APC Director, and current President of PAs in Legal Medicine, as well as BOD roles for the Academy of Doctoral PAs. He teaches point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) at national conferences and previously served as project manager for multiple research, operational, and value-based care initiatives.

As an entrepreneur and CEO of The APC Consultant, a firm providing comprehensive medical-legal, healthcare, and educational consulting, he has over nine years of experience as an expert witness and is a certified Medical Professional Legal Consultant (MPLC). He specializes in personal injury, healthcare fraud, compliance, regulation, forensic investigation, standard of care analysis, and medical malpractice. His collaborative work spans legal teams, life sciences, and AI technology, where he serves as a subject matter expert in healthcare generative AI. Nationally recognized for his expertise in healthcare quality, patient safety, and risk mitigation, Dr. Cannell is deeply passionate about mentoring healthcare leaders in leadership, research, entrepreneurship, advocacy, healthcare policy, quality, safety, and interprofessional collaboration.
