Dr. Emily Stephey graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. She graduated summa cum laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) at Marshall B. Ketchum University in 2017. She then completed a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at HuHuKam Memorial Hospital in Sacaton, AZ. After residency and before joining MBKU, Dr. Stephey worked for a retinal specialist in Torrance, CA.
In 2020, she joined SCCO as full-time faculty with clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities in the Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease service. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association.
