Dr. Amirrad is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Pharmacy. She earned her M.S. in Pharmacokinetics and her Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Molecular Biology from Chapman University and completed postdoctoral training in Pharmacology and Molecular Biology at the same institution, with a focus on cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Amirrad holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Serbia and has several years of Emergency Department experience, providing valuable insight into patient care and acute disease management that informs her translational research.
Her research primarily focuses on cardiovascular disease, using mouse models to investigate underlying mechanisms through integrated molecular biology, pathology, and advanced imaging approaches, including ultrasound, echocardiography, and MRI.
She serves as a peer reviewer for manuscripts in cardiovascular biology and biomedical imaging and has applied for multiple NIH grants.
Dr. Amirrad’s work has been published in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
