Dr. Michael R. Sellers is a retired optometrist whose 40-year career left an enduring mark on eye care in Tucson, Arizona. After attending Loyola Marymount University, he earned both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1978. He founded Advanced Vision Care in Tucson in 1982, where he spent
36 years in private practice providing comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and specialized management of glaucoma and macular degeneration.
Dr. Sellers served as Chairman of the Board of VSP Arizona, Administrator of Vision Source for Southern Arizona, and President of the Southern Arizona Optometric Society. He was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from Marshall B. Ketchum University and named a Centennial Honoree by his alma mater. His philanthropic legacy includes a $1,000,000 pledge establishing the Sellers Scholars program.
Since retiring in 2018, Dr. Sellers remains active in his church and supports causes close to his heart, including the Gospel Rescue Mission and Tunnels to Towers. He enjoys golf, traveling, managing his own investment portfolio, and cherishing time with his five children and four grandchildren.
