Biography
Dr. Nhung Tran graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. She then completed a residency in Ocular Disease at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and Low Vision Rehabilitation at Edward Hines Jr VA Hospital. Prior to joining SCCO, Dr. Tran worked at multi-disciplinary ophthalmology practices in Orland Park, IL and Torrance, CA.
In 2023, she joined the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University as a part-time faculty with clinical teaching responsibilities in the Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease service. In 2025, she transitioned to full-time faculty with clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities.
Dr. Tran is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and member of the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association.
