Biography

Dr. Shora Ansari earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Pharmacological Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego. Prior to pursuing optometry, she spent several years in pharmaceutical research. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO), where she was honored with the Dr. Les Walls Valedictorian Award. Dr. Ansari spent more than a decade in private practice and co-management settings, specializing in specialty contact lens fitting for patients with irregular corneas. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at SCCO at the Marshall B. Ketchum University, where she is actively involved in didactic, laboratory, and clinical education. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Ansari conducts clinical research focused on contact lenses and dry eye disease and has served as principal investigator on multiple industry-sponsored FDA clinical trials. She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents her research at national and international scientific meetings. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association. Dr. Ansari is a Trustee and Past President of the Orange County Optometric Society and serves as Co-Chief Medical Officer of the Orange County Eye Project.
