MBKU has embarked on a comprehensive search for the University’s second president to lead one of Southern California’s innovative health care institutions. MBKU’s next president must build on the growth and momentum that MBKU has established in academic excellence, student success and community partnerships.

Selecting the next president of MBKU will be a comprehensive search that is inclusive, collaborative and transparent so it produces a diverse candidate pool that reflects the culture of our campus and community.

Presidential Search Timeline

May 2021 – November 2021

  • Active recruitment is ongoing. The position will remain open until it is filled, but only applications received by November 26, 2021 will be given full consideration.

April 2021

  • Formal position announcement released to higher education and professional program-specific venues with SCCO, COP and SPAS.
  • The Chair of the Search Committee sends a request to all MBKU faculty and administrators for potential presidential candidates.

January 2021

  • President Alexander announces his plan to retire June 30, 2022.
  • The Presidential Search Committee is named and represents broad-based members of the University community and members of the Board of Trustees.
  • Board of Trustee Chair, Richard S. Price, II, is named chair of the 10 member search committee.
