Scenes from last week's SCCO Pinning Ceremony, which commemorates incoming fourth-year OD students heading into their rotations. Congratulations to our Class of 2021 Graduates ?? We are super excited to celebrate with the College of Pharmacy and SCCO this weekend! This event is even more meaningful for our grads, who are able to commemorate this special day together. Congratulations to Dr. Michal Mingura (OCPhA Past President), Dr. Puja Patel (Board Member), Dr. Azita Alipour (Board Member), and P4 Student Van Cathy Pham (Social Chair) for their work in garnering the CPhA Chapters of Excellence Award for the Orange County chapter! Their contributions to CPhA’s mission and goals in promoting the health of the public through the practice of pharmacy are what has helped propel the chapter forward.

#fbf to last Friday's SCCO Student Bowl - ? @eyes.on.nina shared that it "marked the FIRST event with any type of in-person component at SCCO since the start of the pandemic - it's only fitting that it was to be Student Bowl! It was truly such a special night and gave us a glimpse of the normal optometry school experience that we will hopefully someday return to.

2020-2021 MBKUSA President Taylor Austin shared some poignant words on her tenure and welcomed the new Student Association leaders, "Hey MBKU Family! I can't believe it is already the end of the school year! It has been an absolute pleasure working on a team of MBKUSA student leaders to make this year a memorable one! From Club Info Night to Spirit Week to Pumpkin Carving Contests to Bingo competitions to a Financial Wellness Series to a school-wide gift to Student Appreciation and Health Week, we have had a busy year! Thank you MBKU for a wonderful year!

Congratulations to MBKU California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) Student Chapter for receiving the Chapter Distinction Award for the second year in a row! The chapter did a tremendous job in maintaining CSHP's values of serving patients and the public through promotion of wellness, patient safety, and the optimal use of medications amidst the virtual environment of 2020.

Our recent Super Sim Interprofessional activity involved approximately 200 optometry, PA, and pharmacy students who collaborated in small groups to provide care to a simulated patient with complicated medical conditions. This gave students the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge, clinical skills, and communication consistent with interprofessional collaboration, preparing students of different disciplines to work in teams to deliver the best possible patient experience and outcomes.
