Jean Kim, a member of the inaugural class of 2020 College of Pharmacy and the former president of the MBKU-ASHP Chapter, has been recently granted the Nutrition Support Certificate by the American Society of Health-System (ASHP) in collaboration with American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN). Jean developed an interest in total and peripheral parenteral nutrition (TPN/PPN) during her Integrated Pharmacotherapeutics III, taught by Dr. Genene Salman at MBKU.

In our recent publication of the President's Report, we sat down with faculty to talk about the impact of giving back, "One of the most important areas where Spanish is necessary is with the underserved population,” says Dr. Michal Mingura. As an Assistant Professor for the medical Spanish course, her goal is for students to, at a minimum, have the resources to greet their patients, and communicate the basics of their medication.

In our recent publication of the President's Report, we sat down with faculty to talk about the impact of giving back, “Our desire is to be a part of something bigger than our own university,” says PA Allison Mollet, about receiving a grant from the PA Education Association (PAEA)to facilitate the development, deployment and assessment of a standardized substance use disorder (SUD) curriculum for PA programs. “We want to contribute to the field of medicine. In our recent publication of the President's Report, we sat down with faculty to talk about the impact of giving back, “I reflect back and see that someone decades ago thought it was important to set up a scholarship,” says Dr. Dawn Lam, Associate Professor and SCCO alumna. “They didn’t know who was going to get it. They just wanted to help students in optometry school and I was a lucky recipient of some of those scholarships. I am so thankful for that. Now I’m in a position to give back.

In a recent article for Pharmacy Times, Yasmin Moatazedi from the College of Pharmacy Class of 2020 along with her preceptor, Dr. Jonathan Ogurchak, wrote about the remarkable ways that pharmacy has emerged in response to COVID-19, "It may not seem like it now, but among the chaos caused by COVID-19, there are many silver linings and important lessons to be learned, especially as it pertains to patient care and potential creative solutions in pharmacy.
