LEG GET LIT 2020 - an event created by our very own COSS Chair and Chair-Elect to connect current SCCO students with local optometrists and leaders of the California Optometric Association. With cheese and wine in hand, this was a fun opportunity for our OD students to learn more about the legal aspect of optometry. Our SCCO students are looking forward to uniting their voices to protect the rights of their future profession at COA Legislative Day on April 22, 2020!

Earlier this month, we announced the School of PA Studies graduating Class of 2019 achieved 100% first-time PANCE pass rate–even with the NCCPA raising the passing standard and updating exam questions. "My class is currently in our tenth integrated pharmacotherapeutics (IPT X) learning about antiretroviral therapies to manage HIV infections. To understand the complexity of adhering to an HIV medication regimen in the past, our professor challenged us to complete our medications— which are M&M’s here!— by the end of the week. We are lucky to have combination drugs today that are only once daily, such as Biktarvy (bictegravir, emtricitabine & tenofovir alafenamide) and Triumeq (abacavir, dolutegravir, & lamivudine)." – Tiffany Khieu, COP '21
